New Paths Compendium Cover FrontYour Path is Calling — It’s Time to Start the Journey!

Where better to begin your journey than character creation? This first step is where you forge your identity, and decide how your new hero will meet the challenges of dark magic and fierce monsters: with blade, spell or the power of the gods.

The New Paths Compendium gives you a dazzling variety of new options to create your new favorite PC. You’ll find 7 new and expanded classes from level 1 through 20—plus enough new feats, spells, archetypes, and resources to build and play a character that you’ll be describing to other gamers (and confused baristas) for years to come.

New Paths Compendium includes:
•  28 new archetypes for monks, ninjas, gunslingers, barbarians, fighters, clerics, and 7 Compendium classes
•  7 tracking sheets for animal companions, favored enemies, prepared spells, summoned monsters and more
•  20 new spells for druids, rangers, shaman, and more
•  Almost 100 new feats for new and existing classes

The seven Compendium classes each bring something new to your Pathfinder Roleplaying Game:
• The spell-less ranger, a skilled warrior of the wilderness
• The shaman, with otherworldly new abilities and an animal spirit guide
• The battle scion, a master of sword and spell
• The white necromancer, wielding death magic for the side of Good
• The elven archer, deadly ranged fighter capable of astonishing feats of marksmanship
• The savant, master of all trades (if only for an instant)
• The all-new theurge class, combining arcane and divine power!

There’s a big world of adventure and peril out there — make a hero that it won’t soon forget!

This book has been in the works for a loooong time … and now it can officially be announced!

The New Paths Compendium collects all the New Paths classes into a brand new print/pdf book. This is much more than just a simple compilation though. The book has a completely new layout and organization – the classes themselves are all together in a Classes chapter, all the archetypes and spells get their own chapter, as do all the feats (close to 100 of ‘em!)

In addition, there are a number of cool, brand-new things inside!

The popular savant class from the pages of Kobold Quarterly, completely updated and expanded!

A brand-new spell-less ranger variant class, the skin-changer! That’s right, instead of a favored enemy and animal companion, the skin-changer can shapeshift into animal form (using a specialized form of wild shape called animal shape) right out of the gate at first level! He also gets a specialized type of combat style, called Animal Combat that makes the skin-changer one heck of a combatant when in animal form

Last but not least, the theurge, a base class that combines arcane and divine in new and interesting ways!

If you can’t tell, I’m really stoked about this book! Oh, and if you preorder the print book now, you get the PDF for free!

I knew this was coming soon! :D I can’t wait to pick up a copy– are the feats from the Complete Advanced Feats, or are they different, compiled from the individual class documents?

Thanks Ben!

The feats are compiled from all 7 individual New Paths releases. The feats are alphabetically organized in their own chapter, which even gets a proper feat table. Oh, and there are even a couple new feats as well, since we have a new class or two!

The cool thing about having all the New Paths feats organized like this in the book is that it opens up lots of new options for all the classes in the book – the spell-less ranger, just as an example, can now easily scan through the feats chapter and pick up a cool elven archer feat or two or three.

Of course, with almost 100 feats, even players of non-new paths, core Pathfinder classes will have plenty of cool feats to get excited about :)

My biggest concern is in regards to those of us who have already purchased the original PDFs having to shell out a(nother) large amount just to get the new things. Sure, an organized book with things in their own chapters is nice, but not nice enough to warrant the effectively double charge for a few new items… especially if I have already printed out the books and placed them in their own binders already.
I have had the same issue with other companies like Rite Publishing (The Secrets of Adventuring) and Mongoose Publishing (pretty much just name a compilation book with a new book included but not released alone).

So, you’d like to see the Theurge and the Savant released as standalone PDFs, then?

Hmmmmmm. Well, that would not be too difficult to do.
