ENnie Award Nominations for Open Design!
There is singing, dancing and drinking in the kobold mines today: Open Design received four ENnie Award 2012 nominations. Here’s what we’re up for this year:
- Best Adventure: Streets of Zobeck
- Best Art, Interior: Book of Drakes
- Best RPG Related Product: Complete Kobold Guide to Game Design
- Best Writing: Your Whispering Homunculus
Congratulations to Ben McFarland, Hugo Solis, Richard Pett, Wolfgang Baur and all of the contributors to these projects! And thank you to the fine folks who purchased, read, played, and recommended them.
Voting will begin on Friday, July 20 and runs to Sunday, July 29.

I’ll admit my bias by giving a special round of kudos to Hugo Solis for his awesome work on Book of Drakes.

July 14, 2012 at 5:47pmHere’s hoping “Streets” takes the competition into a dark alley and … well you know what happens in dark alleys in Zobeck.

July 14, 2012 at 8:58pmDrakes was clearly above and beyond art-wise (and design-wise, but I can see why the judges might have considered the topic too specialized or something). I don’t know all the other candidates for Best Interior Art, but I have every confidence that Hugo has a shot at it.
Of course, I think all four of them should win Gold ENnies. But I might be slightly biased.

July 20, 2012 at 9:04amCongrats to all those at Open Design! It’s great to see the smaller presses getting a lot of love this year. Hugo definitely deserves some love for the incredible job he did on Book of Drakes.
I was exceedingly surprised to be in the Best Cartography category this year – Blackstar Studios submitted the Shadowlands Conversion Guide for best maps without me knowing.
Good luck to all entrants! Go kobolds!
